from the gallo-roman epoch, the vines of chateau lestage have occupied the hills of puy de menjon, the head of the medoc. in selecting with care the grapes that make up this wine, jean chanfreau vinified this wine with 56% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 4% petit verdot. from the fermentation in barriques to the bottling, we make the point of expressing the complementary qualities of these 3 varietals. aging allows this wine to refine itself for your ultimate enjoyment; while young it presents a beautifully powerful aroma.
