construit en 1120, ce chateau est le plus ancien du medoc. des 1400, c'est la demeure de la famille de foix, infeodee au roi d'angleterre. en 1486, carnet en devient le proprietaire. la famille de michel de montaigne en prend possession vers 1500. en 1855, le vin de la tour carnet accede au classement des grands crus classes. compose de 62% merlot, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 2% cabernet franc et 3% petit verdot, le vin du chateau la tour carnet est eleve de facon traditionnelle pendant 16 mois avant la mise en bouteille. il est present sur les plus grandes tables du monde. la vendange 2009 a debute le 29 septembre.

built in 1120, our chateau is the oldest of the medoc region. owned in 1400 by the house of foix, loyal to the king of england. in 1486, carnet became the new owner. the family of michel de montaigne owned the domaine in the 1500's. this haut-medoc, classified in 1855 grand cru classe, is made from hand selected 62% merlot, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 2% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot. this wine is made traditionally during 16 month before bottling and served at the world's best table. the 2009 harvest began september 29th.
