the monks of the abbey of lerins were established on st honorat island at the beginning of the 5th century. they currently operate a vineyard of eight hectares, 3 hectares in white and 5 in red. culture of the vineyards vinification and bottling are fully insured by the monks.
the color is very intense, red, pulling purple with gloss. the oxygenation clears fruity notes of blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. aromas of spice, ground black pepper, and a touch of violet flower. the nose is intriguing and the complexity pleasant. beautiful, fresh and quite tense, with an evolution slightly increasing extractions that are balanced and tasty. its tannins are quite impressive astringencies and reveal a great wealth. the finish is long. this wine seduces with its freshness and youth. explosive!
