château d"armailhac a porté, de 1956 à 1974, le nom de château mouton baronne philippe, puis de 1975 à 1988, celui de mouton baronne philipe. créé au xviii siècle par la famille d"armailacq (ou d"armailhac), ce cinquième cru classé en 1885 sous le nom de château mouton d"armailhac, retrouve ainsi, pour une part, son identité d"origine.
voisin de château mouton rothschild, il en est pourtant bien distinct, tant par ses vignes que par ses chais et son cuvier. cet excellent cru possède ainsi sa personnalité proper qui sera désormais pleinement reconnue.
de mouton baronne philippe à d"armailhac, le nom a changé mais sous une nouvelle étiquette, se perpétuent la complexité et la richesse d"un grand pauillac.
formerly château mouton baronne philippe château d'armailhac carried, from 1956 to 1974, the name of chateau mouton baronne philippe, and from 1975 to 1988, mouton baronne philippe. created in the 18th century by the family of armailacq (or d'armailhac), this fifth cru class 1885 as the château mouton of armailhac, found, in part, its identity of origin. adjacent to château mouton rothschild, it is yet distinct, both by its vineyards, its barrel cellar and its fermenting facilities. this excellent cru has thus its proper personality that will now be fully recognized. mouton baronne philippe to d'armailhac, the name has changed but under a new label, it continues the complexity and richness of a great pauillac.
