product of an exceptional terroir, le petit mouton de mouton rothschild is made from the younger vines of this renowned first growth. it is harvested, vinified and bottled with the same meticulous attention to detail. the grapes are picked in open baskets, the wine is fermented in mouton's legendary oak vats and cask-matured in the traditional way. every care is taken to bring winelovers the elegance and richness of a great pauillac.
in tribute to the wine's quality, baroness philippine de rothschild has chosen a label that takes its inspiration from a work by the famous poster-artist jean carlu.
the powerfully coloured drawing combines sensual shapes with the spare geometry of the art deco style. it was created in 1927, after the artist's design of the same period for château mouton rothschild.
