chateau d'armailhac carried from 1956 to 1974, the name of chateau mouton baron philippe, and from 1975 to 1988, that of mouton baronne philippe. created in the 18th century by the armailhacq (or armailhac) family, this fifth vintage classified in 1855 under the name chateau mouton d'armailhacq, thus finds partly, its original identity. neighbor of chateau mouton rothschild, it is however very distinct, by its vines as by its storehouses and wine vats. this excellent vintage thus possesses its own personality that will from now on be fully recognized. from mouton baronne philippe to d'armailhac, the named changed but under a new label, remains the complexity and richness of a great pauillac.
