château mille roses is a small vineyard of 9.5 hectars located on two great terroirs, one in the haut-médoc aoc and one in the margaux aoc. its vines are located between château giscours and château cantemerle, two grand crus classée of bordeaux.
sophie and david take "gardening" and the upbringing of the naturally noble terroir to a whole new level.
"selection" is the key word! it is this selection of parcels, and of grapes (whose yield is particularly controlled), that then allow this "alchemy" of the wine of château mille roses. we find that this never betrays the terroirs (its character and balance) but also showcases the human footprint of delicacy and softness.

vines: vine pest management, tillage, controls of yields and quality (disbudding, leaf thinning, green harvests and retaining a large leaf area).
cellar: manual harvest in small crates, double sorting before steeping in tanks, long and soft vinification (tannin extraction measured) / malolactic fermentation in barrels (best fusion of wood), ageing for 12 months in 25-40% new wood and a light egg white fining.
our wines, dense and silky, with well balanced tannins and aged skilfully, have a generous expression of fruit and freshness. its density permits beautiful ageing potential, and its finesse offers great pleasure in its early years.
2009 vintage: a year where nothing is missing! everything is present in the 2009 vintage: balance, finesse, power for years to come and delicacy present in its early years. freshness is present despite the intensity of the sun, an already exuberant nose of very ripe fruits and an expressive mouth with great volume and a long finish. a dream for every year!
blending consists of 55% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot.
