"otaku" is a japanese word to refer to people with obsessive interests (fans). the word relates to the story of the back label. since fans of our brewery discovered that they can search the ttb database for label approvals, they immediately take these findings and email, blog and even write articles about it. as a company, we might get label approval for a beer to cover our bases - but be unsure of when or if it will see production. this label is a message to these fans to remind them not to use the ttb database as a guarantee that every label that finds its way through approval will actually make it to market.
