the phylloxera is a small parasite of american origin that lives on the vine absorbing the sap. in 1863 europe, phylloxera destroyed the vineyard. two hectors of tempranillo, close to river ebro, with sandy earth to the front and granite to the back, survived. with these vines, i have elaborated this wine with much care, providing a smooth aging in barrels of french oak, in order to heighten its tremendous personality, that reminds usof the great riojas of a century ago.
