"clos des knolls" is the name of our estate vineyard. in french, the phrase means "enclosure of the knolls". the knolls is the subdivision where the vineyard is located. "portia" is a woman's name. although not a common name now, women with the name were prominent characters in two of william shakespeare's plays. they were characterized as intelligent and strong.
