certeto guidi deve il suo nome ai conti guidi, antichi signori. feudali che vi avevano edificato un castello non lontano dal percorso della via francigena la via dei pellegrini e dei commericanti. entrato setto il patere di firenze e sovrani del tempo ne feero un lucgo di delizie e di caccia. ne 1500 cosimo i de' medici, gran duca di toscana, fece edificare nel borgo di cerreto guidi una splendid villa in posizione dominante, tra la riserva di caccia del barco reale mediceo del montalbano ed il padule di fucecchio. si narra che i medici bevessero i vini che producevano nei poderi in cerreto guidi e vendessero il vino attenuto nelle fattorie delle altra dimore toscane. (cerreto guides must ad the conti guidi family, a feudal gentleman who built a castle near france, by way of travelers and traders. cerreto guidi entered under florence monarchs at the time of constructing a village for delights & hunting. in 1500, cosimo i de medici, great duke of tuscany, built the village with a splendid villa between the reserve of the meiceo real bark of the montalbano and the marsh of the fucecchio oasis. it is said the medici's family drank the wines produced in the cerreto guidi farms & sold the wines that came from other tuscany farms)
