this cuvee was made from 9268 merlot vines and 2080 cabernet-franc vines, whose average age is 30 years old, planted on the southern exposed vineyard known as "maurens," saint hyppolite - saint emilion at an altitude of 103 meters.
we keep five bunches per vine. the picking was done manually in "cagettes" on the 28th of september (merlot) and the 12th of october (cabernet-franc). the bunches were de-stemmed entirely by hand, grape by grape.
aging: 23 months in the best fine grain french oak barrels.
controlled saint emilion grand cru appellation; product bottled at the bernard magrez property.
