this small vineyard of 7 hectares is planted with traditional bordeaux varieties of about 30 years of age: 80% merlot, 20% cabernet franc.
it is cared for with traditional and sustained agricultural methods: de-leafing, green harvest " the harvest takes place when the grapes are perfectly ripe, is done plot by plot and the selected grapes are placed in small crates. the grapes are sorted twice, the cap is "punched" by hand and the juice is vinified in small temperature controlled vats.
château le bon pasteur is aged in new barrels of french oak. this wine from the rolland family property is powerful and has a pretty, fruity finale.
