the riserva of brunello is obtained soley in the better years and from the careful selection of the finest grapes. besides the traditional method of winemaking and of typical ageing of the brunello montalcino , this wine is left to sharpen for 6 months in barrels. and possible to sample the riserva solo six years after the vintage has been laid down, actually because of the long period that spends first in barrel, then in barrique and finally bottle it is necessary to uncork the wine at least two now before serving it . it goes well with elaborate dishes and seasoned cheeses. it is advised to preserve the product in a fresh place and keep it at a tempurature of about 15 c, lain down.
