petite arvine 2009 production area the vineyard is situated on the mountainside above aosta at cossan at an altitude of 620masl. the plot has a ritocchino* layout and a southern exposure with an average 35% slope gradient. the soil has a sandy loam texture and is rich in skeletal material. the vines are trained on a single guyot with a stock density of 10,000 per hectare. the endo- alpine climate is dry and ventilated which favors growth. grapes: 100% arvine *rows along the slope from grapes to wine: the grapes were harvested between the second and third week in september. they were then de-stemmed and briefly subjected to pre-fermentative cold maceration. the must obtained from the pressed cryo-macerated grapes was allowed to ferment slowly in steel vats in a temperature-controlled environment. the wine was left to macerate on its lees for a short time and then aged in the same container for 3 months and for at least 1 more month after bottling. production: 3,000 bottles.
wine characteristics and serving suggestions: straw yellow in color with greenish glints. its evident floral, mineral and citrus fruit scents are perceived from its bouquet and aftertaste. its intense, characteristic flavor pairs perfectly with vegetable flans served with fondue and cheeses such as toma and fontina. serve at 12-14°c.
