ferrato della ferriera is produced in the estate of colle alto, in atina, village situated between the apennine chain of abruzzo national park and those of the southern ciociaria mountains. the "cru" produced in this area benefits from a foothill microclimate, where there is marly-loamy terrain, moderate rainfall, and optimal climatic conditions of good sunlight, temperatures, and water availability. the grape varieties of petit-verdot, syrah and cabernet, the selected winnowing, the perfect maturation and the fermentation on the skin endows richness of aromas and flavours characteristic of a decidedly unique "terroir". the wine produced is characterized by a good olfactory impact, a persistent taste, a polyphenolic richness, and intense color. fruit notes of red berries with vegetable aromas make the wine well balanced. serve with traditional dishes containing grilled red meat, game, matured cheeses, and pasta with gravy sauce
