chateau d'armailhac wore, from 1956 to 1974, the name of chateau mouton baron philippe, then from 1975 to 1988, the family armailhacq (or armailhac), the fifth classified growth in 1855 under the name chateau mouton d"armailhacq, and found, in part, its original identity.
neighboring chateau mouton rothschild, it is nevertheless quite distinct, both by its vineyards and winery. this excellent vintage possesses its own personality which will now be fully recognized.
mouton baronne philippe d'armailhac, the name has changed but under a new label, perpetuating the complexity and richness of a great pauillac.
