it has been about 1000 years that the family contucci has produced wine in montepulciano. this wine is made from the vinification of the grapes sangiovese (called in montepulciano, prugnolo gentile), canaiolo nero and colorino. it matures in oak barrels in the historic cellar dating from the 1200's. it pairs perfectly with structured first courses, red meat, game and seasoned cheese. this wine is not filtered and may show some natural sediment.
