chateau verdignan is situated in the community of pauillac, on a crop of gravel of the 'commune de saint-seurin-de-cadourne' that joins it with saint-estephe. it is one of the oldest wines of the haut-medoc appellation and therefore is planted with the classic varietals of the region, cabernet sauvignon 55%, merlot 40%, cabernet franc 5%. the wine ages in oak barrels as dictated by tradition. following traditional vinification techniques the wine is only slightly filtered. the eventual development of a light sediment in the bottle will be only the expression of the natural evolution of this living product. the excellent reputation of this wine brings many visitors who can admire the beautiful 18th century chateau.
