chateau reignac is located on the highest point of st. loubes and was built in the 17th century. the 140 ha of property lies on a hill with soil of mixed argyl and gravel. 79 ha are planted with vines.
proprietors yves and stephanie vatelot chose 3 ha of carefully selected terroir containing large river pellets.
the harvest is done by hand and brought gradually to sorting tables where the grapes are separated from the stalk. careful harvesting and selection allows perfect maturity of the grapes.
after 6 hours of maceration at low temperature in the pneumatic press, the fermentation takes place in new oak barrels. the wine is aged on fine lees for 9 months with bi-weekly stirring.
the final blend is 55% sauvignon blanc, 42 % semillon and 3% muscadelle.
serve at 13-14 degrees c.
