the very ancient roman domain of quinault is protected by the urban site where it is situated and profits from the softness of the dordogne river. it benefits therefore from a very benevolent microclimate. the old vineyard is composed of 70% merlot, 20% cabernet franc, 5% cabernet sauvignon and 5% malbec in reasonable proportions. its situation on a soil of hot gravel results in very ripe grapes giving the cru its roundness, its delicacy and structure. a traditional vinification extremely thorough allows the estate to obtain the best of this exceptional terroir expressing a unique potential of finesse and body following the example of the biggest wines.
