each year since 1945 the label of mouton rothschild is illustrated by an original creation of a contemporary painter. i however have decided this year 2003 to change in honor of our 150 anniversary of our families inheritance. it is indeed on may 11, 1853 that my direct ancestor, the baron nathaniel de rothschild (1812-1870) represented here by a time stereotype, acquired the legendary vintage.
the bottom of the label partly reproduces the act of the purchase of the field, beginning a love between rothschild and the high class wine of bordeaux. thus exceptionally combining the future with a memory with the art of document and a painting of a photograph.13.0 %
