first classified growth in the bordeaux region, chateau mouton rothschild is one of the greatest wines in the world. it is comprised of 200 acres of vines in pauillac, medoc planted in original bordeaux varietals. lad to the top of the wine world by the baron philippe de rothschild (1902-1988) who improved the property to a state of art and beauty, the chateau belongs now the his daughter, baroness philippine de rothschild.
the drawing of the label of this vintage was assigned to the american sculptor jeff koons, who born in 1955 is an emblematic figure of comtemporary art. he works with items found in daily life but also mass produced or with antiquity such as this fresco from pompey entitled "the birth of venus". it's silvery design transforms venus on a shell that is both welcoming and carrying her far away under a clear sun. an exclusive wine: mouton rothschild 2010
