in 1759 joseph laffitte, public prosecutor, created the domaine laffitte carcasset on an exceptional terroir located on a gravel plateau right in the middle of the saint-estephe appellation. the wine is the fruit of a rigorous selection of vine parcels, planted with noble grape varieties: cabernet sauvignon (70%), merlot (25%), and cabernet franc (5%).
