chateau d'armailhac carried from 1956 to 1974 the name of chateau mouton baron philippe, then from 1975 to 1988 that of mouton baronne philippe. craeted in the 18th century by the family d'armailhacq (or d'armailhac), this 5th growth classified in 1855 under the name mouton d'armailhacq, finds here, in a sense, its original identity.
neighbor of chateau mouton rothschild, while being distinct, due to its vines, barrel cellar and fermenting facility. this excellent growth possesses also its own proper personality that is well known.
from mouton baronne philippe to d'armailhac, the name has changed but under a new label continues the complexity and richness of a grand pauillac.
