in 1788, it was purchased by mr. bartholomew roman gabriel filhot, president of the parliament of bordeaux and will be enjoyed for a century of family ownership. his grand-son, the marquis bertrand de lur saluces romain, become the largest producer of sweet white wine of the world. 1er cru classé 1855, successive owners have toujors maintained at a high level of quality. the wine of château coutet is meticulously prepared in the pure tradition, combining both elegance and style with subtlety. it perpetuates the richness of a great sauternes.
