classified in 1855, clerc milon was acquired in 1970 by baron philippe de rothschild and is now owned by his daughter, philippine de rothschild.
its vines, planted in the traditional bordeaux grape varieties, are contiguous to those of lafite and mouton, and extend over 30 hectares along the gironde. its classic and with great aging potential, is seen today as equal to the best in its category. the label is a reproduction of a work of art from château mouton rothschild"s "museé du vin dans l"art" (museum of wine in the arts). belonging to the empress of catherine of russia, the images shows a pair of clowns dancing inspired by the "commedia dell"arte" and is a german goldsmith work of the late xvii century.
