becoming a cru classé in 1855, château clerc milon was acquired in 1970 by the baron philippe de rothschild, and is now in the ownership of his daughter, philippine de rothschild. its vines, planted in the traditional bordeaux varietals, are contiguous to those of lafite and mouton and stretches on 30 hectars on the border of the gironde. its wine, classic and in good guard, is considered today as of the best in its category. the label represents a painting in château mouton rothschild's "musée du vin dans l'art" (museum of wine through art). a jester couple dancing inspired by the commedia dell'arte, the work of a german goldsmith in the 17th century, having belong to the empress catherine of russia
