cultivated in cool lands of chalky-clay soil, mazuelo is an indigenous grape variety to the rioja and navarra regions.
mazuleo reserva undergoes a slow fermentation and remains in deposit for 9 months, during which the wine is decanted every 4 months from one deposit to another. this first stage completed, the wine is aged in american oak barrels, and the following bottling and ageing in bottle until market release all takes place in bodegas beronia.
a structured and long wine with soft tannins. with rough woody aromas and cherry colour with red brick tones. perfect with game and strong cheese. leaving an intense and balsamic sensation on the palate.
