benanti rossodiverzella etna rosso controlled denomination of origin doc/ bottled by the winery benanti srl/viagrande (ct) italia/ v.q.p.r.d. italia/ red wine/ vintage 2001/ 750 ml/ 13.5% alc. by vol./ product of italy/ this wine is made with selected grapes of nerello mascalese (80%) and nerello cappuccio (20%). the grapes are grown on head-trained vines on the volcanic soil of mt. etna at about 2,450 feet. the grapes, harvested between the second and third weeks of october, are uniquely indigenous, pride of our sicilian land. this wine, aged for about 6-8 months in 60 gal. french oak barrels, is fresh, fruity, young and delicious with your daily meal. serve at 64 degrees f. enjoy!/ government warning: (1) according to the surgeon general, women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects.
