les stephens and leslie struxness have planted 9.27 acres of pinot noir on their century farm in the northeast corner of the eola hills. it is a warm site, just barely above the valley floor, and straddles the transition from basaltic to missoula flood soils. it is planted entirely with the dijon clone 777. all of this means you should expect a grapey, brambly, intensely red-fruited pinot noir with a silky texture. we started working with the stephens several years ago and are pleased to bottle the first vineyard-designated wine from their site.
