The label is like the drink. Straight forward and unassuming. Standing up alone in the liquor stores Alcohol Victoria is a pure cut while most spirits present themselves as a fantasy luxury of the upper crusts in society. Alcohol Victoria is laid bare, a clear liquor with an incredibly clean finish, and a soft tart spike on the borders of the palate. Most liquors have metallic notes, or the distant rumblings of unreacted sulfates lingering along after the initial fermentation processes, but Alcohol Victoria doesn't seem to. It tastes like a beautiful summer day in the fertile countryside of a tropical Latin American ranch. Sometimes, you get what you pay for, so it takes a fortune to find something worthwhile, but this highly affordable spirit is an incredible exception. I don't know how something as classic as this spirit, which has been around for over 100 years, has managed to fly under the radars for so long. If you found this, buy it, and enjoy it with someone else who understands quality over hype.
